Brad McNeil Commandant

Brad served from 1971 – 1977. I went to MCRD, San Diego and graduated 13 July, 1972. After a ten day leave I returned to MCRD and was assigned to a Class A School Communication Center Man (MOS 2542). After graduation I was assigned to Camp Pendleton for a week then received orders to go to Okinawa Camp Foster. I joined the Private George Phillips Detachment four years ago. I also serve as the Detachments Web Sergeant. I live in Fenton, MO with my wife Sandy been married for 45 years, I have a son(Brad JR) and daughter(Kimberely and two grandchildren Kaylie and Alex.

John Cooper, Sr. Vice-Commandant

Joined Private George Phillips Detachment in 2017. In 2019 I joined the Military Order of Devil Dogs, Pound 66. I’m a Life Member of the VFW and American Legion Post #1(The First Post Formed in the American Legion). And I am very active with the VFW Post 6274 Honor Guard of Veteran Funerals

Dennis Simpson, Adjutant/Paymaster

Dennis served from 1977 – 1981. He was a Military Policeman at MCAS Yuma, AZ and then did two years as a Drill Instructor at Parris Island, SC. Dennis currently owns his own security consulting business, and is on the Board of Directors with the FOCUS Marines Foundation. He and his wife Dee have two sons, Sean and David, and Gus the wonder dog.

Hugh Smith Judge Advocate

Hugh served from 1969 to 1975. Hugh graduated from the 62nd Officer Candidate Course at Quantico with a primary MOS of Naval Flight Officer and a secondary MOS of Military Police Officer. After the Marine Corps, Hugh worked in Florida and later in Saudi Arabia Hugh was Commandant of the Sierra Alpha MCL Detachment in Saudi Arabia

Carl Ramsey, Newsletter Editor/Chaplain

Carl Ramsey served from 1968 to 1972, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Carl is a Vietnam veteran who served with VMFA-122 at Chu Lai and VMFA-115 at DaNang. Carl is a school teacher, a successful author, and an active volunteer in numerous veteran related causes.

Tyler Gerling, Quartermaster

Tyler joined the Marine Corp in 2016, graduated boot camp in December. After recruit leave he went to Fort Leonard Wood where he graduated from MP school in March 2017. He served at Camp Lejune, North Carolina from July 2017 to July 2020, he was assigned to the Second Law Enforcement Battalion and served two years on the field side of his MOS.​ Tyler has been married to Rebekah since March 31, 2017 and they have two sons, Elijah and Malachi.Tyler serves as our quartermaster and has designed the lates detachment challenge coin.
